July 1st - July 7th
Myopenbar Presents: Monotonix

The craziest act we've ever seen has been gracing New York with their presence for the last few weeks, and our friends from the hood just opened a rad venue that's way more punk than anything you've been to ever, probably. So between the two (with some cherries on top), we just couldn't help but have a little get-together.
Get ready to get sweaty:
- Monotonix: "The most exciting live band in rock'n'roll," according to Spin Magazine. Most of the other music press is in agreement on this, once they pick their jaws up off the floor. A true spectacle, this trio of psychotic Israelis is just getting started when they steal your beer and spray it all over the room. The hijinks get significantly more creative after that.
- Fiasco: A Brooklyn-born and raised punk outfit that's hit a nerve on the noisier end of the rock continuum. They're young dudes, but they respect their elders -- a certain major publication we mentioned above called them a "hormone-drenched Sonic Youth... a youthful-sounding Slint... a la Pavement." New York Magazine decided on "Flipper, Minor Threat, Bad Brains." You decide!
- PoPo: Three lovable Pakistani punk brothers from Philly who create lo-fi epics and world-music tinged "post-hip-hop," tongue halfway in cheek. Their fans include Trent Reznor, who hand-picked them to open for NIN in Europe last year, and more recently, Diplo and Dark Meat.
- DJ Dirty Fingers (Black Label, Brooklyn)
- Open bars: 10-11pm and 1-1:30am
